Don’t Forget:

Must haves: An Alaskan fishing license, food and drink, rain gear, and insect repellent.

Recommended: A bug net, hat, and an extra pair of socks.

Good to Know:

Waders:  We provide hip boots in typical sizes, but if you have a comfortable pair of waders that fit you, we would suggest bringing them. 

Rod and Reels:  We provide rods, reels, line, and flies.  If you’re bringing your own, we suggest a lightweight trout road (3-5 wt) with a floating line. 

Flies:  We provide flies, but if you’re bringing your own, we like dry flies in sizes 10-16.  High floating caddis patterns in tan are excellent.  We also like stimulators, irresistibles, humpies, terrestrials, and Griffith’s gnats.  Floatant is essential.  Bring a selection of bead head nymphs in case they aren’t feeding on top. 

Mobility Limitations

Please let us know if you have any mobility limitations.  In a day’s fishing, we typically walk over rough terrain for up to three miles.  If you or anyone in your group has limitations, please let us know so that we can plan accordingly.  We want to provide you with a safe, enjoyable day of fly fishing. 

Children

We love kids and we are happy to guide them as long as you also understand that your child’s age and stamina may affect where we are able to fish.  Our goal will be to help your kids have a great day.  But it may limit your own fishing.

Alaska Fishing License

Don’t forget your Alaska fishing license!  Nonresidents who are 16 and older will need one.  Don’t wait until you get to the Denali area. There is no place to buy a license in Denali. Buy one online here:  https://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=sportlicense.main

Catch and Release

Denali Angler practices 100% catch and release. These are wild, slow-growing fish. Our goal is to ensure the future quality of the fishery.

Group Size

We limit group size to 3 anglers unless you have made prior arrangements. We are reluctant to guide more than 3 anglers at a time, as it’s much more difficult to give each angler the attention that we think you deserve.

Refunds

Full refunds are given for cancellations 48 hours or more before trip departure. Cancellations less than 48 hours of trip departure will forfeit the $100 deposit. No-shows will be charged the full amount. A $100 booking deposit holds your choice of date.
